Emily is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist and a member of Speech Pathology Australia. She completed her Master of Speech Pathology at Flinders University in 2013 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Translation.
Emily has extensive experience supporting children with complex communication needs and developmental challenges. She has worked across a variety of settings in Hong Kong, including the public sector, not-for-profit organisations and community services. Her clinical interests include early identification and intervention, autism and social communication.
Emily takes a family-centred, neurodivergent-affirming and evidence-based approach to her practice. She believes children learn best when their interests guide their learning and when they feel understood, safe and included. She has completed further training in the Hanen Programs® including More Than Words® and It Takes Two to Talk®. This equips her to empower parents and carers with practical strategies to support their child’s communication development and strengthen relationships.
As a bilingual speech pathologist, Emily provides services in English and Cantonese. She is fluent in Mandarin and is currently learning Auslan. She is passionate about working with families from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
